2002 - Professional Youth Drama

In 2002 the RaTS made the decision to outsource the work of youth theatre to a professional Actors and Drama teachers. We first welcomed Toby Davis as lead mentor, followed on by Heidi Garwood-Hovind who impressed guests with renditions of Shakespeare, Gilbert & Sullivan and Henrik Ibsen. Kathy West took the reins of the youth next, assisted by Helen Caston & Claire Feekings until Grant Flanagan took the over in 2015, winning countless awards for productions of Alice in Wonderland & A Christmas Carol. On his departure for Health reasons in 2017, his assistant and Drama Teacher Faye Wyatt took control of the RaTS youth, with well-regarded productions of Oliver Twist & Peter Pan to name a few.

The Youth Group unfortunately did not reform after COVID-19 and is currently taking a break from meetings and productions. This is reviewed on a yearly basis.
