EGGCELLENCE!
Oh my word Helen Caston (Director) you gave us a humdinger of a Mother Goose. Every element of panto was covered
in your direction of this Mother Goose, Set, Costumes, Choreography (Georgie Sayers and Louise Giddings) simple
but very effective for the small stage.
I'm always eggcited (is that a word? - it is now), to visit RaTS and it is always a pleasure, one knows
you are going to be entertained and I was.
Dean Caston led this cast as Gerty the Dame, what a performer. He worked his audience and they hung on to every
innuendo he delivered, such a strong Dame in Dean and looking every inch Dame Gerty. Here in Kent, we recently
lost one of our premier dames, Dean could easily fill the loss.
Seasoned performers Kerry Bailey and Kathy West gave stunning performances as Fairy Starlight and Demon Queen
bouncing off each other - what a comic pair, and great characterisations.
The love interest, Jack and Jill (Amy Metcalfe and Louise Giddings), were well matched and had great stage presence
between them both in singing and clear dialogue.
Vinny and Winny (Kevin Lane and Gerald Flanagan) what a pair of twerps they were, I loved their boyish comedy,
A nice cameo from Joanna Godman as Natalie West, or was it Bonny Langford?
Georgie Sayers as Priscilla the goose, what can I say? Not easy to spend the performance in a goose costume,
but Georgie moved around that stage like a seasoned player - quack quack to you!
Supporting this strong cast as ensemble were Squire Squint (Richie Basset), Mayor (Darren Hammock), Fenella (Amanda Miller),
Mrs Jones (Cara Micallef), Dolly (Jill Balderston), and head boy (Joe Pritchett). Backing up all were the chorus members
Larry Davis, Alex Green, Leigh Redding and Frances Hinde. Oh, and special guest Alan Godman, he had to get in there
didn't he!
Thank you RaTS for giving me a very traditional Panto in Mother Goose. You all eggcelled!!
