NODA Review

Congratulation goes out to RaTS for taking 'The Empty Stage' by Tobias Nicholls to the Oasthouse and
making my visit to you a very successful evening. It's always joyful to see new works and playwrights. Keep this up.
Diva Carina Harris was murdered during a unscheduled rehearsal for an upcoming play. Now it's up to the
director of the piece to determine which of his temperamental cast members is dramatic enough to be a killer!
Steve Berry, you directed this play with panache, and it was clear to see you took four talented actors and gave
them a chance to shine. And shine they did, not easy with a play that had so many twists and turns. A difficult
task at times I would have thought, but it worked terrifically.
Carina/Girl (Llauren Basset) - what a temperamental bitch she was, a typical diva. Llauren played Carina with a
true feeling for the part. She made us feel she was taking this part and portraying a nasty temperamental actor
and Llauren you succeeded.
Max /Guy (Josh Webb) is a very competent actor. Josh had the task of keeping the two actresses from killing each
other, and with a great twist at the end of the play. Hush hush, wink wink.
Faye Wyatt playing Sadie/Emma certainly had lovely nuances when she was in full flow, not an easy task, but Faye
did portray the downtrodden actress. It would have been easy for her to go "over the top"' but Faye kept
the right balance.
Patrick/Detective Caspian (Daniel Harbour) - Patrick was the guinea pig in the twist and turns of this play.
Daniel's anxiety and deception to his lifestyle well-acted Daniel.
Lighting cues were spot on, operated by Matt Micallef.
RaTS always make me welcome from the front of house to the tea ladies, and beyond, thank you RaTS for inviting me.
