Our Box Office function has changed quite a lot over recent years. The vast majority of ticket bookings these days are done online by our patrons themselves. Therefore, much of the administration and money handling has been removed.
However, as not all of our patrons use the internet, we do still accept bookings made by post to the theatre and via our dedicated telephone line. The phone line can be re-directed to whoever is handling the bookings (we remind our patrons of the etiquette of trying to phone only between certain hours so that you are not tied to you home for weeks on end!). You will need to be able to access the online booking system to see which seats are available and mark them off the seating plan for the required night. You need to take the customer's name and contact number (they might already be on the system).
On the evening of the performance, the Duty Manager will have a print-out of the appropriate seating plan ready for the second part of the job. This is greeting the public, checking them in (so that we know who is in the building in case of emergencies), taking outstanding payments, and sorting out any problems.
